Jessica Robson was diagnosed with Alveolar Sarcoma Cancer on the 1st of November 2010 aged 14 after finding a slight lump in her right thigh on a holiday in August the same year.
After a long 3 and a half year she has lost her battle with cancer on the 16th, May 2014 but her spirit will live on in Jess’s Dream.
Jess was raising money for other patients on the ward providing presents but her ultimate goal was to purchase or build a respite holiday lodge not too far from home as the thought of being too far away from hospital was daunting.
Nicole (Jess’s sister) continued to fund-raise and register her charity name Jessica’s Sarcoma Awareness when we lost Jess in 2014.
6 years later we have achieved Jess’s goal and have built April Cottage in Henshaw, Northumberland.
April Cottage sleeps 7 and is an open plan lodge with a cozy home from home atmosphere. Lots of toys, furniture and fittings have been donated free of charge from many people around the north east. Also most trades men have given us special rates for the building work too.
We have already seen several guests enjoy April Cottage and hopefully see many more families create beautiful family memories to treasure for ever ????
April Cottage is a charming residential property located in the peaceful village of Henshaw, Northumberland. The picturesque cottage boasts stunning countryside views and a beautiful garden filled with a variety of colorful flowers. In addition to its cozy interior and modern amenities, April Cottage is renowned for its warm hospitality and serene atmosphere, making it the perfect destination for a tranquil getaway in the heart of the English countryside.
